It'll Work Itself Out 1 by Daisy Fulton

Diptych. My work explores the tension between space and line. My paintings use grids and forms to create structures, but the activity within these frameworks disrupts the sense of depth. The work creates a push and pull, hinting at depth whilst denying it, leaving the viewer uncertain. Each painting is unique but connected. I often start with drawings based on observation, but my work develops through the act of painting itself. Layers of paint are added and reworked, building textures. This process allows for chance and change, as whole sections of a painting may be erased or reimagined.
