Florence is an artist and writer, living in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. She uses abstract painting, drawing, performance and spoken word to explore her ideas. She’s particularly interested in female experiences relating to sexuality, rage, shame and societal/capitalist pressures. Her work is also influenced by the brutality of the Calderdale landscape, folklore, myth and fragmented memory. 

Florence paints spontaneously, in a multi layered process of instinctual and visceral mark making. She regularly has poetry published, and runs poetry workshops at her Linden Mill Studio (In a Land Studio).
